| Saint Pius X
students are corresponding with members of the US ARMY 82nd Airborne
Ranger Battalion, Alpha Company 3rd Battalion of the 504 Parachute
Infantry Regiment deployed in Afghanistan. Cards, letters and
care packages have been sent to the troops and letters exchanged with
students.
Alpha Company 3rd Battalion has
participated in the 4th grades North Carolina Festival the last two
years. Four
representatives of the battalion visited Saint Pius in December to let
students know what they will be doing during their 6-12 month mission. Students
participated in a mock parachuting activity.

YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of the Girl Scout Troops who donated
cookies for our adopted 82nd Airborne Ranger Battalion. We’ve also been very excited
about the hundreds of letters and cards that our students have been
sending.
